~~WELLNESS TIP~~

Mind Tip Think you’re good at texting and driving? Research shows that our perceptions don’t match our predictions and actual levels of performance.

Think you can text while driving? Think again. A new study  shows that our perception of how well we’re doing doesn’t match up with how well we truly perform. Researchers found that people who texted behind the wheel had the impression that it didn’t interfere with their driving performance, when in fact their driving ability was greatly diminished. Even if you’ve never been in an accident, or you pride yourself on your quick reflexes or ability to multitask, make no mistake: Your driving skills while texting are worse than you think. It is impossible to focus on two visual tasks at once without both performances being severely compromised. Play it safe and leave the phone alone.
