A new study has found that people with seasonal allergies found greater relief from symptoms when they underwent weekly acupuncture. They also were able to rely less on antihistamine medication, compared to patients who received fake acupuncture treatments.
According to Chinese medicine, the ancient practice works by stimulating certain points in the body that are believed to be pathways along which energy, or chi, flows through the body. Research suggests that acupuncture can also be an effective treatment for headaches and back pain.
